So I'm thinking of doing a little experimenting with some different ink tools.  Nothing radical, and I will never give up my favorite old school brushes and nibs, but I want to play around with some of the markers available today (the nib pens in particular, not the brush pens), just to add to my repertoire, explore the possibilities and add some more variety to my line.

I've used Pigma Microns before, and know what I'm getting with them.  They flow pretty well but are not super waterproof, and they fade pretty badly when erased so it's kind of a mixed bag.  I hesitate to use them for professional work.

The other two types I'm looking at are the Copic Multiliners and the Faber Castel Pitt artist pens.  Do any of you guys use either of these (or the Microns) and do you have a preference?  Why?  What have you found to have the best, blackest line that has a great flow, points that last the longest and a line that can stand up to erasing and maybe even handle Copic Markers without streaking?  Any other brands I might have missed that you'd swear by and not swear at?

And yes, I will be playing around with all of these myself, but wondered what all of you artist and inker Deviants have already learned and experienced as well!  Can't wait to hear some opinions!

I had no idea you were on deviantart, Scott. I am a big fan of your work, especially your Batman inks for Jim Lee's drawings. Keep up the great work! Now I'm off to enjoy your gallery.

started inking after Icons of Dc art of jim get in my hands. Hate digital inks after watching ur artworks. So, was trying copick and micron. Think that centropen 1$ 0,1 liners are the best, Btw brushinking is the best type and brush much better than lners.
still mix my inks and boil it it warm water before it becomes good consistency (sry bad grammar)

Hey, I was just wondering what kind of bushes you use for your ink work. Your stuff is great and your lines are so thin.
